A broadcast is a direct message to a group of people: an announcement, a reminder, a greeting or an appeal. There are two kinds.

Event broadcast

From the Event Dashboard, to the guests of one event.

Organization broadcast

From your organization, to the members of any of its circles.

Event broadcasts

Hosts and co-hosts can message everyone on an event from the Event Dashboard.
  • Use it for news that belongs with this event: a change of plan, a reminder of what to bring, a thank-you afterward.
  • Guests are notified on their channels, the same way as an Update.
  • For news you want guests to find again later, a post on the event wall keeps it on the Event Page.

Organization broadcasts

Admins, and managers for their own circles, can message the members of one or more circles at once. Each person receives a broadcast only once, even if they belong to several of the circles you picked.
1

Choose the circles

Pick one or more circles in your organization. Everyone in those circles is included.
2

Write the message

Add a subject (optional) and your message. You can attach an image too.
3

Choose the channels

Send on any mix of:
  • WhatsApp, from your organization’s own number
  • Email, from your organization’s own sender
  • Push notification to the Fast Party app
  • In-app message
4

Check who it will reach

Before sending, see how many people it will reach on each channel, including how many have muted messages.
5

Test, then send

Send a test to yourself or a colleague first to check how it looks. When you’re happy, send it to everyone.

Greetings

For festival wishes, congratulations and other greetings, send the broadcast as a wish. It’s delivered as a greeting from your organization rather than an announcement.

Choosing the right channel

WhatsApp has strict rules on promotional messages. General announcements that aren’t tied to an event are more reliably delivered by email.
Messages go out from your organization’s own WhatsApp number and email sender once they’re connected. Until then, they go from Fast Party’s default account. See Your WhatsApp & Email.

Muted members

Members can mute messages without leaving the circle. They stay on your roster, but muted members don’t receive broadcasts. The reach check shows how many are muted before you send.

Broadcast history

Every broadcast you send is logged, so you can see what went to which circles and when.
