# How Fast Party Works

> Events, circles and organizations: the three layers everything in Fast Party is built on, plus the words used throughout this guide.

Fast Party has three layers. An **organization** holds **circles**, and circles hold **events**. You only use the layers you need: a host planning one birthday needs only an event, while an alumni association uses all three.

## Events

An event is a single occasion with its own page, dashboard and tools. Every event is one of three types.

<CardGroup cols={3}>
  <Card title="RSVP Event" icon="envelope-open-text" href="/private-events/event-creation">
    Invitation-based. You control the guest list, and invited guests RSVP directly. No registration queue, no approvals. Best for birthdays, dinners, weddings, meetings and private functions.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Registration Event" icon="ticket" href="/public-events/overview">
    Registration-based. You share a registration link and people sign up. When you create the event, you choose whether registrations need your **approval** or people can **register directly**. If the event is priced, attendees pay once their spot is confirmed. Supports ticket types and capacity limits. Best for conferences, reunions, tournaments and ticketed shows.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Open Event" icon="door-open" href="/events/open-events">
    No RSVP needed: everyone in the circle is welcome. Available in organizations: create it in one of your organization's circles and it's shared only with that circle's members. Best for a weekly meetup, a club night or a batch get-together.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

<Tip>
  **Any event can run over several days.** RSVP, Registration and Open Events can all be multi-day, and each day can have its own invitation template, up to 5 per event. [Templates for multi-day events →](/events/banner-and-templates#multi-day-events-a-template-for-each-day)
</Tip>

### Which one do I need?

| If you're running… | Use | Why |
| - | - | - |
| A birthday, dinner, wedding, meeting or private function | **RSVP Event** | You know exactly who's invited and want to know who's coming. |
| A conference, reunion, tournament or ticketed show | **Registration Event** | You need a registration link, capacity and, optionally, ticket sales. Choose approval-required to vet each sign-up, or direct registration to let people in straight away. |
| A gathering where every member of an organization circle is welcome and you don't need a headcount | **Open Event** | No invitations or RSVPs to manage. Circle members just see it and come. Available in organizations. |
| A series with the same group, such as a monthly book club or an annual meet | **A circle** holding RSVP or Registration Events, plus Open Events in an organization | Add members once and reuse them for every event in the series. |

### Event tools

Each event comes with optional tools you set up for your guests, grouped by what they're for. [All event tools →](/events/event-tools)

| For guests to read | Things you ask your guests | On the day, and after | For running the event |
| - | - | - | - |
| Event Schedule, Event Lineup, Event Folder | Guest Preferences, Travel & Stay, Gifting & Best Wishes, Potluck Manager | Check-In, Real-Time Guest ETA, Photos, Feedback Corner | Tasks |

### Event Page and Event Dashboard

Every event has two sides. **Build it on the Event Page. Run it from the Event Dashboard.**

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Event Page: set it up" icon="pen-to-square">
    Where you create and shape the event: details, [banner and template](/events/banner-and-templates), guests or registration, and the tools you switch on. It's also what your guests see.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Event Dashboard: run it" icon="gauge-high">
    Where you run the event once it's live: RSVPs and registrations as they arrive, check-ins, tasks, reminders and activity, all in one view, plus [event broadcasts](/organizations/broadcasts#event-broadcasts) to message all your guests at once. For hosts and co-hosts, on a laptop or tablet browser.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## Circles

A circle is a saved group of people, such as a family, a work team, a book club or a college batch. You add members once, then create events inside the circle and invite everyone in one step.

Circles also keep people connected between events with **posts**, **polls** and **surveys**. RSVP and Registration Events can live inside any circle. Open Events are available only in an organization's circles. [Learn about circles →](/recurring-events/overview)

## Organizations

An organization is the home for an institution, club or business that runs many circles and events. It is built around one **roster**: a member joins the organization once and can then be placed in any circle without a new invitation.

An organization gets:

* **Your brand.** Your logo and colors on every page, invitation and reminder.
* **Your channels.** Messages go out from your own WhatsApp Business number and email sender, at cost.
* **Your payments.** Fees, tickets and contributions go straight into your own Razorpay (India) or Stripe (US) account. Fast Party never holds your money.
* **One dashboard and one broadcast.** See every circle and event at once, and send one message to exactly the circles you choose. Each person receives it only once.
* **Roles that match real life.** The person who creates the organization becomes its admin. Admins have full access to every circle and event; managers run only the circles and events they create or are assigned to.

Organizations are part of our paid plans. To set one up, email [contact@fastparty.ai](mailto:contact@fastparty.ai) and our team will get you started. We can also bring your existing records across in a one-time [data migration](/data-migration). [All about organizations →](/organizations/overview)

### Your workspace speaks your language

When an organization is set up, it picks its type, and the workspace relabels itself.

| Organization type | Brand | Circles are called | People are called | Events are called |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| School or college | [Reunion](/get-started/reunion) | Batches and chapters | Alumni | Reunions and meets |
| Club or association | [Coterie](/get-started/coterie) | Sections and committees | Members | Club events |
| Event planner or agency | [Jubila](/get-started/jubila) | Guest lists and audiences | Guests | Events and shows |
| Venue or space | [Belvedere](/get-started/belvedere) | Audiences and member groups | Visitors and members | Programs |

It is the same product underneath. Only the words change.

## Finding your way around

A few things sit in the same place on every page of the app:

| Where | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Far left of the top bar: the Fast Party logo** | On desktop, click it from any page to go straight back to your Home page. |
| **Top-right: Connect with Claude** | Connects Fast Party to your Claude account in one click. [Connect your AI →](/platforms#connect-your-ai) |
| **The Ask Antsy button** | Coming at the end of September: guides you through the page you're on, answers your questions and takes you where you need to go. [Meet Antsy →](/features/antsy-ai) |
