# Members

> Invite people to your circle, see who has joined, and choose who runs it.

## How people join

Click **Add Members** on the circle page and enter each person's phone number or email. They get an invitation on WhatsApp or email.

The member list has three views:

| View | Who's in it |
| - | - |
| **Members** | People who have joined. |
| **Pending** | People invited who haven't responded yet. |
| **Denied** | People who declined. |

Members don't need the app. They can accept and take part from the link on the web.

<Note>
  In an organization, people join the organization once and can then be placed in any of its circles without a new invitation. [Circles in an organization →](/organizations/circles-and-events)
</Note>

## Roles

</Frame>

| Role | What they can do |
| - | - |
| **Organizer** | Runs the circle: adds and removes members, creates events, posts, and edits the circle. |
| **Member** | Sees the circle's events and feed, RSVPs or registers, and takes part in posts, polls and surveys. |

Open the **⋮** menu next to a member to **Make Organizer** or **Remove Member**. Removing someone doesn't affect events they've already been invited to.

## Leaving a circle

Members can leave a circle at any time with **Exit Circle** in the **⋮** menu next to the circle's name.

## Hiding the member list

Turn on **Hide Member List** when you create or edit the circle to stop members seeing who else is in it.
